Golden Milk and Spirulina Protein Balls

I eat lightly, so I graze and snack throughout the day. Admittedly, these are truly Earthy, Crunchy Girl recipe vibes here. Could be considered a little too healthy, somewhat weird. My tastebuds have lived through 1980s-90s Macrobiotics, Raw/ Live food, Vegan, Gluten Free, and Vegetarian with a little bit of cheese (when it’s high quality, like Neals Yard, etc, I’ll have a little). So yes, I’m not way near perfect and a little weird. If the food is made with care and love, I’m in. I believe your body feels the energy.

I took the balls on a sunset beach walk yesterday. Meditation, snack, journal, and watched the sun go down.

Golden Milk Protein Balls

Almond Butter 1 Cup

Honey 2 tbl (optional)

3 soft Medjool dates or more if the dares are drier

Pumpkin Seeds ground  1 tsp

Sunflower Seeds ground 1tbl

Coconut Butter 2 tbl

Organic Pea Powder (I like Sun Warrior)

Organic Dried Mango (optional)

Fine sea salt

Turmeric 1/2 tsp (save a pinch for dusting)

Ground the pumpkin and sunflower seeds in a coffee grinder until they resemble bread crumbs. In a Magi Mix (orange anything equivalent), add all of the remaining ingredients, except a pinch of the turmeric for dusting after the balls have been formed. Mix until the ingredients become a cohesive paste. With your hands, mix into ball size of your choice, a convenient size for snacks on road trips, hikes, or beach days.

Spirulina Protein Balls

Almond Butter 1 Cup

Honey 2 tbl (optional)

3 soft Medjool dates

Pumpkin Seeds ground  1 tsp

Sunflower Seeds ground 1tbl

Coconut Butter 2 tbl

Organic Pea Powder (Sun Warrior)

Goji Berries (optional)

Fine sea salt

Directions: Same as above, replacing dried mango for dried goji berries, and the turmeric for spirulina.

Enjoy!
